  • Information about the monument: Two of the four cut-masonry minaret structures, which are on the northern side of the Hagia Sophia, are Sinan’s works. They were built at the time of the restoration of the building during the reign of Selim II. Sinan’s search for a scale and style respectful of the Hagia Sophia can be clearly seen in his architectural solutions. These minarets, which are attached to the main building, are closed to visitors at this time.
